You can start playing the game by clicking "Start Game" from the Main Menu. If this is your first time playing, make sure to take a look at the Controls before starting the game.

If you notice Items popping in and out of the Gameplay Zone those might just be Pickups you're seeing. You can move over these items to pick them up and gain advantages, such as a Life, or Shield.

You will be playing as this Heroic Green Element, which strikes down the Evil Red Elements! Though outnumbered by Reds, you have an arsenal of gadgets and wits at your disposal..

These Evil Red Elements have been hunting down and destroying the Heroic Green Elements for an unknown reason.. They are so dedicated that they will sacrifice themselves just to destroy you! It is up to you to destroy as many as possible...before they destroy you!

This is a common weapon among the Elements. Anything in the path of these photons will be obliterated!

Developed by the Green, these shields help protect you from a single attack. When hit, your shield absorbs the impact and sends out a "Shieldwave" which can annihilate incoming Reds. Unfortunately this causes a strain on the shield, and it is disabled until you can repair it by an item.

Evading is done by pressing CTRL, the direction you evade in depends where you were last facing. While evading you're invincible to damage allowing you to dodge incoming attacks, or ram through incoming enemies for big Score! To evade, your Energy must be at 75% or higher.

As you progress further into the game you may notice changes in the appearance of your enemy. These are what we call Enemy Tiers; the higher the tier, the more hits they're able to take!

 Tier I
These are the first enemies you'll encounter and the weakest by far. A single photon can take them out.

 Tier II
These Red Elements come prepared with some extra armor which will absorb a single photon. Once the armor is destroyed they'll degrade to Tier I.

 Tier III
The biggest threat is Tier III with their magnetically enhanced armor which can absorb up to two photons! Destroying the magnetic field around the armor will degrade them to Tier II.

Armor Destruction & Bypass
Any destruction of the enemy's armor will reward you will extra score. So, make sure to dispatch the higher ups quickly! If you wish to take out higher tiers in one hit, you can bypass their armor by using an evasion bash.

Hold down movement keys to move at a quicker rate.

Pickups are items that randomly spawn in the Gameplay Zone. These items provide you with benefits such as an Extra Life, or a Temporary Weapon. Utilize the list below to identify Pickups you encounter.

If you have the maximum amount of an Item, or it is currently active, it will be converted to Score; 10 points. This is useful for gaining large amounts of Score.

Extra Lives give you another chance to be vaporized before going into Game Over. Keep your eyes peeled for this one if you're running low on Lives.

The Barrage is a deadly weapon that sends out a single Photon which splits into 8 directions. If you like getting close, you can annihilate a horde of Reds or an armored unit in one well placed shot.

The Tri-Photon fires 3 concentrated Photons which can make quick work of those higher tiers or hordes.

Photon Mines disintegrate anything unlucky enough to get in range. You can set it up as a Trap, or destroy Enemies on your tail. When acquired, you can deploy a Photon Mine by pressing the B key.

Shield Repair helps restore your Shield so you can unleash another Shieldwave, or absorb an attack. If your Shield is down you'll want to find one of these quickly!

Speed Boost temporarily raises your movement speed for 15 seconds. Need to evade incoming enemies? Look no further.

Overdrive is automatically triggered upon pickup. It gives you temporary invincibility for 5 seconds, and 3 seconds on respawn.

DOM Blast is a simple browser game, developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Basically it is a Space Ship Shooter, with never ending waves of enemies which increase in numbers until you die.

It is recommended to play this browser game on an up to date browser to take full advantage of style animations and what not. Main development and testing was done through Firefox, and a few Internet Explorer / Google Chrome tests.

Here you can change the color of your ship. Simply type a hex color(#008800), or short color name to change the color of your ship. When finished click "Save Changes" to apply the color, you can also undo these changes by clicking "Undo Changes."
